  1. There’s not any storage information on the package. Do I need to refrigerate after purchase to maintain freshness? What is the shelf life?

  2. I put them in the freezer

    I didn’t read on the pack do not freeze. I have had them in the freezer for about 5 days. Will they still be okay. Pete

  5. Bij mozzarella de herkomst meer te specifieren. Is het koe-, geit-, buffel-, ---melk. Toch belanrijke info voor wie met intolerantie(s) zit.

  6. Improve consistency and quality of the database

    The data volume of the database is impressive! However, when trying to systematically using the data for analysis (e.g. for calculation of diverse footprints like CO2 or global hectar by the ingredients of a product) there are inconsistencies with respect to quantities (units etc.), categories, ingredients etc.

    Is there a plan to improve the structure of the data model and is there an awareness that such an improvement would really boost the applicability of the data?

    Such an endeavour would be long and painful, but it would definitely pay off. There are also proven methods like systematic database-refactoring to go…

  8. Merge Open Food Facts with Open Beauty Facts

    Why have 2 apps that do nearly the same instead of one?

    You could use the categories to differentiate between different products types and only show the relevant info for each type. I think that more people would prefer using only one app. I understand it makes things more complex but it may be worth it.

  9. Incorporate data from other sources

    Hi

    First, let me say that this database is an amazing resource, I love it.

    However, product availability, while surprisingly good, still appears to be lacking in my experience. I scanned all the products at my house, and only 1/3 were already in the database. Of course, I can add those products, and then they would be available for everyone.

    But, there are also corporations, some of them affiliated with governments, that do have complete data about these products. For example, the app 'Mijn Eetmeter', made by the Dutch government, has no issue recognizing all products at my house. They…

    For more efficiency, add an export option to most popular health apps (Lifesum, sam. Health,...), I find it very useful if next update implements it soon.

  18. Nutri-Score Legend

    We recommend that a new nutri-score legend be a part of the app. Currently there is no way of knowing what the different levels (A-E) actually represent. Is "A" better than "E"? When you press on the nutri-score area of the app it takes you to an article that talks about the nutri-score scale's existence, however, it does not actually explain what the different levels mean. Therefore, we recommend that when you press on the nutri-score area a legend (like a Legend on a map) pop up and explained what the assigned level means for that particular product and why.
